                WORDS FROM THE PREZ.

Well we were talking about doing something new, so here it is, on
Saturday the 16th  of June we had our club jump and meeting, with
only having one cessna we thought it would take a while we were
wrong, unfortunately Gary had no tandams scheduled. But good for
us, Alex, Brian, Marcus and Myself exited the cessna at 11, 000 ft.
flown by Frank Mott. Marcus and Myself put up a nice base for Brian
and Alex. After getting a 4 way, I gave the nod to break and do a
360degree right turn and 4 way again. On our second 4 way was
completed, we were suppose to break and do a left 360, but at 5, 700
ft AGL I decided to just fly it, until our 4500 ft break off and keep it
safe after 4 nice landings and a short talk we decided to go have our
meeting in luis’s rigging loft because he seems to be working all the
time making the bucks, ok it was over 100 degrees and the A/C was
on, Present at the Rebel meeting was Ruben, Dan, Brian, Luis, Alex,
and David.
After the reading of the last month Rebel meeting Minutes, I
nominated a couple of outstanding people in to the club. So
Congratulations to Armando De La Trinadad and Marcus Wolfe for
becoming Rebel Skydivers, This will be Mando’s second tour as soon
as he does his reoccurrence jump in Cal City on the 30th of June
(Road Trip). Besides our monthly safety breif by our saftey officer Luis
Hermosillo and paying up our dues. Everything else were things on
our future. So keep your eye’s on our website for updates, our next
club jump and meeting is July 14th, 2007 . So until then

                                                               Words from the Prez

Here again after having our club jump and meeting on Aug. 11th at Desert Skydiving Center.
Members present at the meeting were Danny, Brian, Luis, Alex, Markus, and Armando. Again
main subject was October Feast logistics, planning food, music, etc. ect! Also we had 4 members
measured up for Rebel Jumpsuits. Which will look good on club jumps . Luis will be going to
Colorado for another Swoop contest which the club gave him $100 dollars as sponsorship, but
he needs to bring back a picture with him wearing a club shirt. Good Luck on your swooping
Luis and be safe.  On the first jump was Brian, Markus, Alex, and Mondo, I arrived shortly after.
The plane took off, flown by Frank Mott, I was in touch with Brian, by phone before they took off
Alex and Brian put a quick 2 way together with Markus flying in third, giving Armando some
flying time, Mondo never got in but was very close. At 4,500 AGL they broke, turn 180 degrees
and all tracked away for deployments, Good separation. This jump was done before our meeting.
On the second jump it was Armando, Brian, Markus, and Ruben. Alex was pretty tired from
working the night before and drive from Yuma, AZ. We exited the plane at 11,000 ft.. AGL. Brian.
And Ruben put a base together for Markus and Armando. With Markus in a slot we noticed
Armando had gotten low. There was no way Mondo would make it back up if Markus got in. So
just about 8500 ft AGL we broke. I went over and pinned Armando with Brian right behind, At
about 4, 800 Ft AGL I was getting ready to leave when Markus came in hot but smooth, for nice
4 way, holding just a few seconds we broke, for openings and safe landings, with Markus
crossing the beer line, that will be one case of beer on your next visit, Markus, Good Job. Our
next club meeting and jump will be Sept. 8th at Desert Skydiving Center, If any older jumpers
would like to come out and see what some of our younger guys are doing it would be great, I
know it’s still a little hot but you will get a nice tan.
On another note we did another road trip to California City DZ on the first weekend of August
2nd thru 5th, Kay Nelson, John Davis (a.k.a. JD, Raymond Jones). Brian Speese,  Anita & Ruben
Espinoza made the trip, we arrived around 7:30pm at Bob and Judy Celaya’s home. Introduced
Kay and JD to our Cal. City family. At 8am we started our class,  Kay, JD, Nick Kent, Jim Gold,
and myself started our Coach rating course, with Bob Celaya our Coach Director, it was a long
day with the green light coming on at 5:00pm. Saturday morning Kay and J.D. hooked up with
their instructors Dave Bryan and Sean Sarver. Brian and Myself hooked up with Bob’s Big ways
for 3 Jumps, We were lucky to get the 3 jumps in, as for Kay and J.D. only got one evaluation
jump in because the instructors were schedule with tandem and AFF dives and because of that
Kay and J.D. were on the Early Bird load at 6:00am Sunday , J.D. was so excited. After their
jumps I hooked up with Dave Bryan and did my 2 jumps and Debrief it was all over except the
money and paperwork. After all our Goodbyes we loaded up my truck and started home.
Stopping at the store for a few drinks(30 pk) when Brian Speese noticed his gear wasn’t in the
back of the truck, when we returned to the DZ we got a few laughs. On the way home Kay and J.
D.  were amazed by how good they were treated by every person they talked to. Also how great
our instructors Bob Celaya, Dave Bryan, and  Sean Sarver were, all Brian and myself did was
smiled and agreed and like to say Thank You Cal. City, Van; all the staff and skydivers at Cal
City DZ. We’ll be back soon oh yeah thanks for the Moon Job Ken. Kay, JD and Myself did  pass
our coach course. And again We would like to say A big thank you to Bob & Judy Celaya, Dave
Bryan & Sean Sarver for your friendship & professionalism as Skydiving instructors . Until We

Well can you believe it I’m back ,where have I’ve been Well believe it or not ,But I am
actually better at hunting, then Skydiver, I know it probably just stuns your mind,” How
can anybody be so good,”After one Deer ,going on a great Elk hunt with Armando, 4 Big
Bulls and one Javelina’ all of the hunts are over until August.
Starting with October Feast is when the California City Skydivers came for some nice
Skydives, Also of course are our Famous Latin Skydivers, For sure we knew our most
Faithfuls , Would come, Tommy, Pete, Manuel, and we know in our hearts Pelon was
watching in and laughing at some of our jumps, It was also Great to have Bob and Judy
Celaya, Kenny Thompson, Mike Hansen, Janel Russo, come down even though all we had
we’re 2 Cessna 182,
Also with all the People at Desert Skydiving Center, who we are all told made them all
feel Welcome and like Family, The Party was Outstanding and the Food was great, as
always. I really like to Thank Gary and all the Staff for making the weekend go smooth
and successful, For sure we can’t leave out the Pilots for their Formation Flying. Thank
you if by chance I forgot anybody, I’m sorry; But you got to remember I’m over 50yrs old.
Oh yeah, We also met a very nice couple by the name of Sam and Cathy Smith ,From the
Valley ,Cathy and Judy Celaya are Sister’s .,Great! Run’s in the Family, I’ve also met
about 8 more and their also Great People.

Our club jumps in the next few months were also good, We were looking in the air for a
Caravan, But it just hasn’t happened.
But never the least we always have a good time with all our good Friends at D.S.C.
In January Club Jumps & Meeting, We had our Office Elections, for the Year 2008,
Armando DeLa Trinidad is President of the Rebel Skydivers, David Flores Vice President,
Brian Speese Treasure/Sec. And Ruben Espinoza Safety Officer, Congratulation to all and
I know they will do a Great Job.
Our February meeting and club Jump started out to a slow start , But with our new
President and New First Lady Marcella  It’s never been better, Armando towed his trailer
out to the DZ and my little slum was already there. Between Marcella DeLa Trinidad and
Anita Espinoza Buying and putting together some outstanding Breakfast, lunch and
Dinners.  I just wish I never had to leave ,We never got to have our Meeting, Because of
Illnesses and other Commitments, But for the one’s who were there man I think I gained
15 lbs.

Just about the time I lost 10lbs it was time for our March Meeting and Jumps I had to
work Saturday, So I showed up in the Evening, Mondo, Brian, and David were their early,
Alex had to get his House ready for his beautiful daughter’s Birthday, But leave it to our
President and First Lady they did it again, outstanding Food and Friendship, Marcella’s
Sister and Brother-in-law Nancy and Ruben were their, Again we joked, talked, til all
hours of the night,and some of us drank &drank &drank, Tyler sure can pack a
Parachute...Never the least we all had a good time and survived, Sunday was kind of a
good but sad day, First Kay Nelson, recieved her collison with a Rebel Patch #2, by Flying
in to a Rebel 4 way of Armando, Alex, Brian, and Ruben, Her Husband John Davis, aka JD,
aka Raymond Jones, just happens to have #1 Patch to his credit, Patches and cards will
be mailed out as soon as I get off my Ass. More Information will be some where in our site
as soon as I get my Ass the second time and write it all up for Brian to post.
Oh Yeah ! Second JD and Kay left for North Carolina, Because JD rejoined the Army, We
also will have JD and  Kay ‘s last weekend photo’s, Somewhere in our site, So enjoy ! As
for the Rebel’s we wish them nothing but the Best and we will miss them Dearly, Can’t
wait to see them again.

Our next Meeting and Jumps will be in Thermo, California at the Army Airborne Reunion
March, 19 & 20th We will be hooking up with the Latin’s and Cal City Skydiver’s, For
some Fun and Skydive’s, But in between the Rebel’s are all looking forward to Estrella
days at Desert Skydiving Center on April 5th and 6th So if you would like to earn your
CWR Patch and Number ,come on out I’m sure we can help you.
And  Beside,I’ll bet you’ll even have Fun and Gain some weight to boot, Until then we
would like to wish all our Friends nothing but Blue Skies...
