Rebel Skydivers started in September of 1962.Rick
Ornelas, Bob and Chuck Larned who were members of
Charlie Merrits Sky Hi Pioneers decided to branch out
on their own. Each picked up a student and a club
came into being. We existed without a name until
another club invited us to join their club. We declined
and were told to go ahead and be a bunch of Rebels. At
our next meeting which was held at American Legion
Post 41.We adopted as club name REBEL SKYDIVERS.
We wrote up our By-Laws under the Guide lines of The
Parachute Club of America (PCA) which later became
U.S. Parachute Association.
