| About the Rebels |
Rebel Skydivers started in September of 1962. Rick Ornelas, Bob and Chuck Larned, who were members of Charlie Merrits Sky Hi Pioneers,
decided to branch out on their own. Each picked up a student and a club came into being. We existed without a name until another club invited us
to join their club. We declined and were told to go ahead and be a bunch of "Rebels". At our next meeting which was held at American Legion Post
41, we adopted as our club name "REBEL SKYDIVERS". We wrote up our By-Laws under the Guide lines of The Parachute Club of America (PCA)
which later became U.S. Parachute Association (USPA). There are several requirements in order to become a Rebel Skydiver. Mustache is
optional, but not required.
